Why should we plan while there are chances of us altering or making changes to them? The answer to this question is that we should certainly plan despite the fact that there may be chances of us making corrections to them. The following example will clarify this.
There is evidence in European history that reveals that Napoleon crossed the mighty Alps. His ambition was to rule the entire continent. But not many could understand his intentions because he camouflaged them by tweaking his plans. Only when he began conquering country after country did people realize his intentions. People realized the uncanniness of Napoleon's calculations as well. What is the point in mentioning this here? The point is that you should always be ready to tweak or fine-tune your plans. Only then can you achieve the goal you have set for yourself. In other words, the very plans you make should not become choke points that hamper your journey. The following few points will help you understand this better.
1. You are in the midst of a tight era.
You aspire to land a good job. But never forget the fact that the present era is tight as far as employment is concerned. So, what should you do in this context? You should equip yourself fully. The current situation is such that there is no space for complacency at all. If you become complacent, you are on a perilous path. You cannot land a job. Even if you are already employed and aiming to climb the rungs of your career ladder, your aspiration will get usurped by your reluctance to equip yourself according to the situation.
Will this situation change? It may not change in the near future. So, keep acquiring more and more skills and knowledge. It is not enough if you have complementary skills. You must be ready to acquire knowledge in unrelated fields as well.
2. Have backup plans.
The suggestion should have been worded like this: "Have innovative and insightful backup plans." Just ordinary plans are not enough at all. The prime example is that of Google. The company made a fascinating announcement in November 2025. They would be embarking upon an insightful, awesome, and far-sighted project. This "Project Suncatcher" is likely to begin in 2027 and is for testing prototype data centers in space. What is the necessity for this? Power consumption of data centers has been increasing by leaps and bounds.
Experts do not hesitate to point out that data centers are highly power-hungry. They strain the grids, and so, there are likely to be frequent power outages. In short, we cannot rely on grids consistently because complete reliance on them is akin to going down a rabbit hole. If data centers are moved to space, it will help Google and similar companies tide over this problem. Google might have gotten this idea from Sam Altman of OpenAI, who tried without success to acquire Stoke Space, a startup in the reusable rocket domain.
China went a step further, and the country took swift action. During January 2026, the country succeeded in running a language model using a satellite in orbit. They sent a query from the Earth, and got the response within a couple of minutes. Such was the speed of processing. No more worries of power outages or strained grids.
The point is that you should keep exploring and innovating until you get insightful backup plans. That is why you are advised to expand your knowledge and skill base.
By sticking to the advice of looking for innovative and insightful ideas to fulfill your career as well as real-life ambitions, you will reach unimaginable heights.
